The frequency superimposed upon the low-frequency voltage shall be higher than 100 kilohertz.

The shells or wet process porcelain pin type insulators shall be subjected to vigorous dry flashover for from 3 to 5 minutes in the routine electrical test. The voltage control shall be such that a continual flashover occurs and divides uniformly over the shells or insulators made by ceramic material under test.
