Composite long rod insulators
Composite long rod insulators:
Composite long rod insulators is used in AC power system from 11KV to 500KV in normal and polluted area, and the frequency does not exceed 100Hz. Composite long rod insulator was used as suspension and tension usage on transmission lines and distribution lines. Especially for polluted areas, Composite long rod insulators can effectively prevent flashover. Therefore, it widely replaces porcelain insulator and glass insulator.
The equivalent diameter of the normal composite long rod insulators is much smaller than normal disc suspension porcelain insulator and porcelain station post insulator, this is also the most important reason why composite long rod insulators is very good at anti-pollution. In bad conditions, hydrophobicity may decrease or lose along with the influention of power, enverionment, but equivalent diameter won’t become bigger, so the pollution flashover voltage of composite long rod insulators still keep a high standard.
Composite long rod insulators is different from ceramic insulator, which should be assembled by several pieces as per transmission line voltage, composite long rod insulators will calculate the section length, and creepage distance according to system voltage and then make it one piece, this will save assemble time, and also will be easy to transport since its low weight. Normally, composite long rod high voltage insulator will be equipped with one grading ring on 110KV lines and two grading rings for voltage above 220KV.
