Manufacturer’s drawing of ANSI 56-1, 56-2, 56-3, 56-4, 56-5 pin type insulator, if furnished, shall show the outline of the insulators, together with all pertinent dimensions. Any variations in these dimensions due to manufacturing tolerances shall be indicated.
Material of ANSI 56-1, 56-2, 56-3, 56-4, 56-5 pin type insulator:
ANSI 56-1, 56-2, 56-3, 56-4, 56-5 pin type insulator shall be made of good commercial-grade wet-process porcelain. The entire surface of the insulators, with the exception of a firing surface, shall be glazed. The entire surface shall be relatively free from imperfections. Color is not a part of this standard. Metal parts of ANSI 56-1, 56-2, 56-3, 56-4, 56-5 pin type insulator shall be made of a suitable corrosion resistance and temper.
Marking of pin insulator:
Each insulator, including ANSI 56-1, 56-2, 56-3, 56-4, 56-5 pin type insulator, shall bear a symbol identifying the manufacturer. The marking shall be legible and durable.
